The Westerners - Dust Jacket - Dee Brown

£6.30

The Westerners by Dee Brown, published by Book Club Associates in 1974 by arrangement with Michael Joseph Ltd. A hardback illustrated history of the American West, with cover and interior artwork reproducing Western paintings, including a detail from Albert Bierstadt's Platte River, Nebraska and illustrated portraits within the text.

The dust jacket shows significant wear, with tearing and loss along the top edge and spine head, and chipping at the corners. The front and rear panels carry colour cover illustrations of riders on horseback, still bright, with the title and author lettering clear on the front panel. The spine panel of the jacket also shows chipping and loss at the head.

Internally, the page edges are toned, and the leaf shown at the middle of the book has clean white paper with sharp black text and a colour plate opposite. The copyright page is clear and legible, confirming publication details and printing credits.
