Victoria Four-Thirty - Cecil Roberts
Victoria Four-Thirty by Cecil Roberts, published by Hodder and Stoughton as part of the Yellow Jacket series. This reprint is dated September 1947, with the copyright page listing a long run of earlier printings from July 1937 onwards. The cover carries the "Famous All Over The World" strapline and a printed railway ticket design for the Southern Railway route from London Victoria to Vienna.
The dust jacket shows considerable wear, with loss and tearing at the spine ends and corners, a chipped area at the top of the front panel, and general rubbing and soiling to the yellow surface. The spine panel is creased and torn at the head. A strip advertising the book as the "Twenty-fourth edition" is laid in at the front. The front free endpaper carries a name and place written in ink. Internally, the sample page shown is clean cream paper with clear black print and no foxing visible. The book stands upright and appears complete in the photographs shown.
