Vintage Shropshire Archive - The Mere Baschurch - Local History Genealogy

The Mere, Baschurch: a typescript collection of deeds and charters relating to this Shropshire property, deposited through Curtler and Hallmark, Solicitors (S.R.O. 1221/4-61). The material sets out a pedigree of the La Mere family and reproduces a run of medieval deeds and grants concerning land in Mere, Baschurch and Prestecote, with dates ranging from the thirteenth century through to the fifteenth, including witness lists, seal descriptions and endorsements.

The volume is bound in a plain deep red cover with the title and place name lettered in gilt to the front. The spine is plain. The typescript pages are cream in colour, with the text clearly reproduced and legible. There is some faint show-through of text from facing pages, as is common with this kind of typed reproduction.

The covers show light rubbing and a few small marks, with a touch of handling wear to the extremities. The corners are slightly bumped.
