Waterways Postcards 1900-1930 - Hugh McKnight

Waterways Postcards 1900-1930 by Hugh McKnight, published by Shepperton Swan in 1983. A paperback collection of early postcard views covering boats, waterways people, buildings and scenery, along with humorous and advertisement cards, reproduced with accompanying captions and commentary throughout the text pages shown.

The cover is illustrated front and back with reproduced postcard images on a cream background with an Art Nouveau style border. The front cover shows some creasing and a curled corner, with a small area of wear at the top edge. The back cover is clean but shows a similar curl at the top corner. The spine is lightly creased with some rubbing visible at the head.

Internally, the copyright page is toned with some light marking. The sample pages shown are in good order, with clear black and white and colour reproductions of postcards and readable text. A close-up of the page edges shows some discolouration and wear along the fore-edge.
