About Britain No. 1: West Country, published by Collins for the Festival of Britain Office in 1951. The book features a Portrait of West Country by Geoffrey Grigson and a Gazetteer by H. G. Stokes, with Geoffrey Grigson serving as General Editor across the series. The front and back covers carry a relief map illustration showing the West Country region, with towns, hills and coastline marked, and the original price of 3/6 net is printed on the title page.

The hardback covers show wear at the edges and corners, with some rubbing and discolouration visible, particularly along the spine, which has darkened with age. The spine text remains legible. Internally, the title page and portrait illustration are present and clear, and a photograph of Cheddar Gorge within the text shows the printed matter to be sound, with cream-toned paper typical of the period.
