Whispers in the Village - Rebecca Shaw

Whispers in the Village by Rebecca Shaw is a paperback published by Orion Fiction, part of the Turnham Malpas series. The cover illustration shows a stone bridge and village houses beside a river beneath a painted sky.

This is book eleven in the Turnham Malpas sequence, following the villagers of the fictional parish after the rector Peter leaves for a year working at a mission in Africa, with a locum taking his place and stirring up the community.

The cover shows a well-defined, unmarked image with clear gold and teal lettering. The spine text is intact and legible. The back cover carries the plot summary, publisher details and price. Inside, the paper has yellowed slightly with age and the print is clear and dark. A cast list of Turnham Malpas inhabitants is included at the front. Page edges show a little tanning consistent with a secondhand paperback of this age.
