Word from Wormingford: a parish year - Ronald Blythe

Word from Wormingford: A Parish Year by Ronald Blythe, published by Viking in 1997. This hardback is illustrated by John Nash, with an additional illustration by David Gentleman, and collects pieces first published in the Church Times, offering a year's observations of parish life in the Stour Valley.

The dust jacket carries a colour cover illustration of a rural landscape with figures working a field, and a pen illustration of a cottage on the back. The jacket shows wear at the spine ends and a repaired tear with tape on the lower edge of the back panel, visible as a lighter patch. There is a crease and a small mark on the front flap area inside.

Printing number line reads 1 3 5 7 9 10 8 6 4 2.

Internally, the paper is cream-coloured, with black and white illustrations by John Nash accompanying the text, as seen in the sample opening shown.
